Northern LGPS launches search for inaugural senior leadership team
Northern LGPS has launched the search for its inaugural senior leadership team as it moves into the next phase of development as a standalone pooled investment organisation for the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
Recruitment is now underway for a Chair, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer and Chief Risk Officer, alongside Non-Executive Directors. These appointments will be central to establishing Northern LGPS’s leadership, governance framework and operating model as the organisation prepares for regulatory authorisation and independent operation.
The successful candidates will play a key role in shaping the long-term direction of Northern LGPS, embedding strong public-sector values, robust governance and a culture focused on delivering long-term investment outcomes for partner funds and scheme members.
Building on the foundations already in place, Northern LGPS brings together significant scale with a long-term investment approach, strong stewardship and a clear commitment to transparency, accountability and effective risk management.
Paul Battye, Chief Executive and Lead Partner on the Northern LGPS project, said:
“This is a pivotal moment for Northern LGPS. As the organisation transitions to a standalone entity, appointing a high-quality senior leadership team is essential to establishing the right governance, culture and operating model for the long term.
These roles offer a rare opportunity to help shape one of the UK’s largest public sector investment organisations at the point of its formation, working closely with partner funds to deliver strong outcomes for members over decades.”
The roles are aimed at senior leaders with significant experience across investment management, governance, risk and regulated environments, reflecting the scale, complexity and regulatory expectations of Northern LGPS.
